Dear members and friends of St. Margaret's Tamil Anglican Church,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is a pleasure indeed to serve the Lord with you in this parish of St. Margaret's.

The Rev. Viveganathan and I, as co-workers are grateful for your service, participation, and love for this fellowship. We gather together in the sprit of cooperation and in the spirit of Christian unity in microcosm. Here at this parish, we agree to be together and walk together in the same journey of faith and discipleship under the guidance of the Lord Jesus and His Spirit. God's Spirit calls us to keep the unity of Spirit in the bond of peace. An example indeed of what it means to live the Christian life in this 21st Century.

At the beginning of the tenure of your Priest in Charge's appointment by the Bishop, The Right Rev. Patrick Yu, saw him as a missionary pastor coming from another cultural background. The ministry of priesthood as such is not sufficient unless we address the needs of our people. It was right decision for the Bishop to allow as to have been served by another clergy from another denomination that can speak to the hearts and minds of our people. The Rev. Vive and the Rev. Ariel Dumaran, have done that which is not regular in many parishes. And indeed to understand and complement the pastoral needs of the Tamil Community, we took the path of diversity in unity. In reality, our people come from various spiritual and religious roots. Our traditions and backgrounds are respected and affirm our faith in the variety of gifts and members of the Body of Christ.

Having an Anglican Church as our mother Church, and maintain the best in each of our denominations, we engender a vibrant and thriving Community of compassion and service. In a nutshell, our parish is a local expression of global reality of Christ's body. We are able to hold together things essential for the testimony of the Gospel. "That the world may know, that the Father have sent you...." Christ prays. We appreciate the efforts of all of you, proud of your roots, as Methodists, Anglicans, Catholics, Church of South India (CSI), Ceylon American Mission members and others. To have all of us in one great picture together is already a great and simple effort to express our oneness as God's family in this small of corner of this world. Ours is ecumenism in action. May God bless you.

For God's Glory alone,

The Rev. Ariel Dumaran
The Rev. J. Viveganathan
