Dear members and friends of St. Margaret's Tamil Anglican Church,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is a pleasure indeed to serve the Lord with you in this parish of St. Margaret's.

For more than two years (from July 2008) I have been serving in this Church as an assistant Pastor with Rev. Ariel Dumaran as Pastor-in charge. From the 1st of September 2010 I have been appointed by the Bishop, the Right Rev. Patrick Yu as Pastor- in- charge of the St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church.

I thank God for giving me an opportunity to serve Him, all of you and my community in and through this Church, in this new appointment.  This is the beginning of another milestone in the life and history of the St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church.

I wish to thank the Bishop the Right Rev. Patrick Yu for his decision to appoint me as the Pastor-in-charge of this Church, and for conducting a very meaningful service and delivering an appropriate message at the celebration of new ministry which with the Twentieth Anniversary of this Church, was celebrated on the 17th of October 2010.

I also thank all the members of the St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church, Pastors and members and friends of neighboring churches for attending this special service and for their prayers, help and support.

With the Congregation I thank and appreciate the service rendered by Rev.Ariel Dumaran as Priest - in - charge of this Church for the past two and a half years.

As the Church is getting ready to reach her twenty-first anniversary, as the new Pastor-in-charge of the Church, I would like to recall some of the specialties of the   St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church.

1. This is the first Tamil Anglican Church and one of the very few Traditional Tamil Churches in Canada especially in and around Greater Toronto Area. (Please see our origin).

2. Even though this Church is affiliated with the Anglican Church, our members come from different denominations such as Anglican, CSI, Methodist, Roman Catholic and other Mainline Churches

3. Therefore in our Worship Services we accommodate people from all denominational background.

4. First and Third Sundays are Holy Communion Services celebrated according to the Anglican Eucharist order. On Second Sundays we follow the CSI order of service. Fourth Sunday Services are conducted by our Youth’s fellowship and it is a Bilingual (English & Tamil) Service. Fifth Sundays are observed as Family Sunday and opportunities are given to the members and children to express their talents and share their testimonies for the glory of God.

5. We try our best to preserve our cultural identity and sustain the purpose and motives of The Founders who started this Tamil Traditional Church twenty years ago.

6. It can be said that St. Margaret’s Tamil Anglican Church is a congregation which tries to bring Unity in Diversity among Tamil Christians. We aim to unite the people of God as one body - the Body of Christ.

May the Lord our God continue to bless our Church. Please pray for me and my ministry.

God bless you.

Yours in His Service,

Vive.

(Rev.J.Viveganathan)
